Increasing DO probably showing algae increasing DO, when sun first
replaces cloudy sky. |

Cloudy, no wind |
Nearly no DO at bottom. |
With a 15 mph wind at 3:50 PM on May 21, 2010, on the down-wind end of the north
lagoon at the catwalk, the dissolved oxygen (DO) at the surface
11.97 mg/l
was close to the DO at the bottom
8.51 mg/l.
At other locations (not down-wind) in the lagoons, the bottom DO was 0.21
to 0.74 mg/l.
These data show the lagoon turning over when the wind blows, a phenomenon well
known by fisheries biologists.
