This special event celebrates the launch of the
young adult paperback edition of A Young
People's History of the United States by Howard
Zinn with Rebecca Steffof. Readings and music

rebels, visionaries and dissenters from our past
-- and present, as well as of laborers and
women, African Americans and immigrants,
soldiers and veterans, and others struggling to
right the wrongs of their day.

illustrated, and updated single volume young
adult edition of Howard Zinn's classic telling
of American history. A Young People's
History of the United States brings to US
history the viewpoints of workers, slaves,
immigrants, women, Native Americans, and others
whose stories, and their impact, are rarely
included in books for young people.
A Young People's History of the United
States is also a companion volume to
THE PEOPLE SPEAK, Zinn's forthcoming
documentary film, adapted from A People's
History of the United States and Voices
of a People's History of the United States.
THE PEOPLE SPEAK will air on
History later this year.
Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove will introduce
and narrate the performance and with a cast
including Avery Brooks,
