Policy of the People

 

Balance wage and productivity.

 Productivity has been increasing for 30 years; wages are staying the same.  Democrats and Republicans are causing this inequity.

 

 

Stop the finance industry from taking the people’s money.

 

The Long Demise of Glass-Steagall was done by Democrats and by Republicans to help the finance industry and hurt the people.  The legislators listened to the finance industry and not to the people. That was Very Risky Business, according to Senator Byron Dorgan in 1994. Crapo and Simpson both made the mistake and voted Yes for this bill.

 

           

Create a health care process that meets the people’s needs.

 

The people spend $2.5 trillion for inadequate health care now.

 

 

Support renewable energy in tax law and with incentives.  Stop tax law support and incentives for fossil fuel.

 

A recent study by the Environmental Law Institute found that government support for fossil fuel was $72 billion and for alternative fuel $29 billion, for Fiscal Years 2002-2008.  Fossil fuel tax support is hard-wired and alternative energy support is time-limited.

 

 

Military is for defense only.

 

Evaluate the foreign and domestic military bases and remove all the bases that are not needed to support our national defense.  Evaluate the military industrial complex and keep it to the national defense only.

The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for the homeland security.  Define the role of the other military and civilian agencies in defending the homeland.

Legislators need to listen to the people, not to the lobby groups.  Then support the people in all that they do.

People have common sense.  We must insist that our legislators use common sense.

This common sense shows us that the public relations industry runs election campaigns for both parties. The industry uses the same technique to sell candidates as it uses to sell toothpaste. Toothpaste advertising undermines markets by projecting imagery to suppress information.  Political parties use the same methods to suppress information. 

What solutions to the energy, environment, and economy problems have Risch, Crapo, and Simpson accomplished?  What solutions did their opponents in the last election offer? 

How much sense does it make to distrust congress and elect incumbents?  Ninety percent of elected candidates are incumbents.
